Stories of Impact
Your donations have a real and measurable impact on people’s lives.
Listen to some of their stories below.

Kyler & Egypt
Kyler & Egypt came to Claris seeking advice and support in a difficult time. We were able to provide them with the pregnancy, insurance, and parenting services that they needed. After working with Claris, Kyler & Egypt had a healthy baby boy and are now facing a brighter future.
“Having that additional support from people who aren't related to you, who aren't obligated to do anything for you... is something we are eternally grateful for.”

Kinnedra
Kinnedra recently moved back to LA when she went through one of the hardest times of her life. When she began to go to church she prayed for a place she could get help. Then she was introduced to Claris Health for a well-woman exam.
When she came in for her exam, her medical provider patiently listened to her and provided education. Kinnedra was able to open up to her about the things going on in her life. She was then given the mental-health resources she desperately needed.
“Therapy has really allowed me to have a safe space to talk about what I’ve been going through. My therapist’s unbiased opinion and expertise helped me to deal with my root issues like my father-wound, which has impacted my relationships.”

Kassidy
“There is a safe space for you at Claris Health. Claris really did an amazing job of giving me things and knowledge and even just grace in times that I didn’t even know that I needed them. I think they've been a major safety net throughout my pregnancy journey and my evolution as a mom.”

Barbara
Barbara works as a residential counselor at the Alcoholism Center for Women. Claris Health came to provide training on how to help women and families navigate difficult pregnancy situations. . As we shared about adoption, Barbara reflected on her own birth mom. Through insights gained in the training, Barbara was able to see that just because her mother was struggling , that didn't mean she didn't want her or love her .
“Claris Health made me see that my mother didn't give me away, she just placed me where she thought I'd be safe because she couldn't take care of me.”

Jaevihun
“At Claris, you create time for me and help me understand myself more as a parent and believe in myself. All the grief and trauma I’ve experienced causes me to act out, but I’m learning how to control that and not act out. I made a lot of mistakes but it’s not too late to change me. My dad blew me off, and I want to raise my son to be the best man he can be. Something my dad couldn’t do for me.”

Jessica
Jessica found herself in LA without any family support when she discovered she was pregnant. She didn't know where to go or where to start but then she heard about Claris from a friend.
Jessica's biggest obstacle was not having a car of her own to get to and from appointments. Claris was able to offer rides to Jessica so she could make her checkups consistently and on time.
"As soon as I got to Claris, it was like a weight was off my shoulders. Having this outlet to go to has changed my life immensely.”

Alencia
Alencia moved out to California, got a great job, and started a new relationship. That all changed when she found out she was pregnant. Finding herself single, unemployed and homeless at five weeks pregnant, she attended a Community Outreach fair for pregnant women. After explaining her situation to one of our program support members, she was quickly welcomed into the Claris family.
Alencia received prenatal care, birthing and parenting classes, and found more permanent housing and support for her journey to motherhood.
"Coming to Claris was the help that I needed. The more I went for help, the more resources I got. I wasn't pregnant and alone anymore, I had a whole support system."

Matt & Cora
"Claris’ ability to connect with us as patients in a genuine manner was a lot better than any other clinic I’ve ever been to. It meant a lot to know that we
weren’t alone throughout the process. Claris offered us all of these different resources for new parents and
called us to check on Cora and the baby right after delivery. I was in shock that they remembered and
cared.
Cora and I have never forgotten the love, care, and resources Claris provided during our first pregnancy. They cared for us in the most vulnerable time of our lives."
